Beyond Dieting

It has been almost a couple of months since I last blogged but I am going to let you know what has been going on. About a month went by after the finale and the Wellness Complex decided to do a extension of that program called Beyond Dieting. It is basically the same type of program with all the same rules as before. Only thing this time I didn't set my goal as high as the last time. This time I decided to set my goal at 10 pounds, but like I said before it is not my final goal by any means. When it is all said and done I want to lose a grand total of 50 pounds that will put me into Onderland. It is really going to be a battle I will tell you that, because the closer you get to the goal the harder it is to get there. So far I have lost 5 more pounds for a grand total of 31 pounds. I feel that I am really going to bare down to eventually get to my goal, because I have not been on my best behavior as far as food choices go. Well, that is my update for now so until next time stay tuned to see what happens next.....Tommy

Dump Your Plump Finale

Well, it is finally over! The contest has run its course of 10 weeks and is now officially over and it has been really great. I think if I am not mistaking our team of 6 dropped a total of 128 pounds altogether which is really good. Four of our team members shot for a weight loss goal of 20 pounds. While the other two shot for a total of 14 and 12. All but 2 made their goal but they were right there at it. So, I will start with myself, during this program I lost a grand total of 26 pounds. My goal as you all know was 20 pounds and I made it. Now this was a goal I wanted to meet and I did but it really isn't my long term goal. I eventually want to lose about 20 more pounds so I am trying to continue on to get down to my eventual goal weight that I have set for myself. With a little help and motivation with one of my co-workers I think I can achieve this goal. Hopefully, I will be the same motivation for him to achieve his also. I, however, was not the biggest loser on my team. We all wanted to be the biggest loser on our team but it came down to just me and the guy I work out with. I had a total of 10.57% weight loss for the 10 weeks and he had a total loss of 10.66%. So my hat is definitely off to him and I hope we can continue on this journey to change our lives for the better. I can already tell a big difference in the way I feel so I am going to continue on and see how it goes. I will try and keep you updated as best as I can. So, until next time I will see ya when I see ya!

Countdown 1 week remains

Well, the time for this competition is almost over and since my last post I have lost only 2 pounds. So, that brings my total to 23, which is good don't get me wrong but I want more. I lost the 2 pounds last week and just stayed the same this week, very frustrating I must say. I know it is a long climb and I am really going to try and start to step it up a bit because I think I can do more than what I am doing. For instance, when I am on the treadmill walking at 4.0 and a incline of 2.5 my heart rate is just around 105 or so and to get a better burn to lose weight I think it needs to go up. So, I know some of the issues and I just have to tweak here and there and eventually I will get there. What is so hard for me is Sweets because I really do like them I have been pretty good at avoiding these during this program, I just have to keep the mentality and keep in mind my long term goals then maybe I can have me a little something along the way, but not over indulge which got me in the shape I am in now. Maybe I can find a before and where I am now pics. Well, until next time see ya!

Weight Check-In

Well, it has been a couple 3 weeks since I last posted on the Dump your Plump program so I thought I would give a update. The first week after the post I only lost one pound, the second week I stayed the same, didn't gain or lose any, so needless to say I was very discouraged to say the least. When you are really trying to watch what you are eating and not getting any losses on the scale it is very disappointing. So, this last week I wasn't going to worry about it and just do my thing and eat like I had been and get my exercise in just like normal and lo and behold I got a 4 pound loss. I was like now that is more like it and all the hard work that I have been doing had finally showed again on the scale. So, now my total for now is 21 pounds that I have lost and there is about 3 more weeks until the program is over. I have met my goal I set for this program which was 20 but I am not satisfied with that, because I want to get to a total of about 40 pounds and then just try and maintain on that. So until next time See ya!

Dump Your Plump

Well it has been quite a while since I last got on to blog so here goes. Some of my co-workers and I have started a program through work called Dump your Plump. We have been on this journey for about a month and so far out of 8 or 9 teams we are number 1. The goal of this program is to help you to eat healthier and also to exercise at least 30 minutes a day for 5 days a week. Before you get started you set a goal of how much weight that you want to lose and if you meet that goal at the end of the ten weeks you receive bonus points and you also get points for getting all your exercising in. So an update on my weight loss so far is the first week I lost 9 lbs, second week I lost 3 lbs, third week I lost 2, and the fourth week I just lost one. So, for the record that is a total of 15 pounds so far it does seem that the more you go along the harder it is to lose weight. The good thing about it is I am feeling so much better physically and getting in better shape. Hopefully, I will make it to my goal that I set for myself which is 20 pounds I do have another 5 or so weeks to get it done but I would like to keep going to lose even more. So stay tuned till the next time so I can tell you how I have done on this journey.
